In 2019, I wrote a piece about women film viewers, male-dominated criticism, and lust at the movies for Sight & Sound Magazine.

It generated the idea for an entire book - an anthology of women and nonbinary culture writers on their relationship with desire at the flicks, edited by yours truly. She Found it at the Movies: Women Writers on Sex, Desire, and Cinema was published by Red Press in 2020.

It was featured on BBC Radio 4 Arts Hour and was called by filmmaker Mark Cousins a ‘a book of fiercely original writing and thinking not only about cinema, but about ourselves.’ You can purchase it in the links above or wherever good books are sold.
